The Transylvania Times recently had a guest columnist named Doug Powell share his views on communism. We’ve all heard the phrase “can’t see the forest for the trees.” Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?
If you are a resident of Transylvania County, and you are asked the question “Which represents the greater threat, illiteracy or communism,” what would you consider the correct answer ‘to be?’
Many neighbors would be alienated by the statement ‘Every Christian in North Carolina is either redneck dumb (suffering from cognitive dissonance that prevents the proper use of logic and reason) or using the name of ‘Jesus’ to indulge in fraud. (Judaism is a synonym for fraud and does not represent grace from ‘God.’) John 3:16 is fruit from the tree Duke uses to exploit credulity.
Let’s hit the bull’s eye and connect the dots in a manner that will set all of Transylvania’s Judeo-Christian captives free.
When we agree that 2 + 2 = 4 and not ‘5’ we have agreed on the correct answer.
When we disagree and say, “2 + 2 = 5,” we traffic in an incorrect assertion. If the correct answer is four, a teacher cannot say, “it’s okay for ‘Billy’ to say the answer is ‘5’” and give ‘Billy’ an ‘A’ for trying. 2 + 2 does not equal 5. (1 Corinthians 13:10)
Why do all Transylvanians have a tailbone that did not grow a tail?
If you are able to answer the question correctly, you’ve made 2 + 2 = 4.
If you are unable to answer the question correctly you’ve screwed the pooch and made 2 + 2 = 5. (Your answer was incorrect and represents imperfect understanding of the subject matter in question.)
If you say “2 + 2 = 5” you are not ‘smart.’ It is not a stretch to say ‘if you are not smart, you are stupid.’ Stupidity makes people appear to be ‘dumb.’
If you say “I do not have a tailbone” you are illiterate because we all have a tailbone that did not grow a tail. You will find an image of a human tailbone below.
If you say ‘I do not have a tailbone” you qualify as being “redneck dumb.”
Is it anarchy or illiteracy that makes some local republicans appear to be redneck dumb? If it’s anarchy they are members of the Klan and enemies of justice for all. (The KKK and the graduates of Duke Divinity represent a ‘domestic threat.’)
Doug’s concern for the spread of communism in America mirrors the red scare of the McCarthy era. He has the right to his opinion, but which threat is greater, illiteracy or a difference of opinion? Without literacy we cannot empower a more perfect union.
The KKK represents illiteracy. Members taint grace with imperfect understanding. That perspective uses ‘the name of Jesus’ to create the swamp or mire that no one can drain, because all Christians suffer from and covet their illiteracy.
The Anti-Christ aids ‘divine providence’ by co-enabling Darwin and Wallace with the knowledge of DNA, et al.
When the whole truth sets Christian captives free they no longer believe in hell, because amazing grace helps them understand why their tailbone has no tail.
