When Christians accept why
their tailbone has no tail
they cannot tell children
‘God’ sends souls to hell.

Grace explains why we all walk with tailbones.
‘God’ did not create ‘Adam’ or curse ‘Eve.’
When we help each other embrace the truth
ignorance from the Klan can’t make us grieve.

When Christians ignore why they have tailbones
they cancel the blessing that sets them free
from the ‘good news’ that makes them tell a lie
that starts with ‘fruit’ from a forbidden tree.

Pastors should not teach children with a lie.

When amazing grace helps us walk with truth
ignorance from the Klan ruse can’t make us grieve.

“The stations of the cross obscure the lie.
The lie makes men say, “God sends souls to hell.”
Eve’s not the reason why we grow old and die.
Genesis entraps Duke with a tall tale.
