All christocentric discernment is handicapped by the landscape amnesia that begins with Adam and Eve. When make-believe is added to make-believe the rib bone fib morphs into the imagery of Christ camouflaging the heresy of atonement doctrine. When perjured truth is the cornerstone for faith actual fidelity to the truth that frees us from ‘godliness that denies the power thereof’ is rendered null and void.
Thomas’ quote works better when we substitute ‘sanity’ for ‘peace.’

People who believe the devil is real have crossed over into the land of delusion. Irrational fears have poisoned SCOTUS, et al. with beliefs that impede the empowerment of equality, liberty, and justice for. The convoluted nature of religious heresy undermining our pursuit of a more perfect union can be undone with a simple fix but the fix renders any affection for or coexistence with Judaism 1 and 2.0 a bridge too far.
Replacing Adam and Eve with Darwin and DNA forces everyone to ‘gird their loins’ with proper awareness of a reality where grace allows all practicing Christians and Jews to repent from fidelity to ignorance stamped holy.
Darwinism and DNA eradicate the chaos, division, and strife created by literacy that fails to raise the bar for truth in all circles, John. 😉
