The ‘Moses’ in the OT and ‘the Christ’ in part two are both products of fertile fiction. ‘God’ didn’t appear as a burning bush or raise Jesus from the dead. Every scholar knows the ten commandments came from Moses’ brother in law. Bishop Spong stated the fact emphatically. (I’m not sure it was in Unbelivable. I rarely remember what I read, let alone where it came from.)

Was Jesus something new under the sun? Has any other Hebrew ever been born of a virgin? Wouldn’t that qualify? Is a corporeal Anti Christ something new if he claims to be Jesus’ doppelganger? Ecc 1:19 is another one of those biblical verses that represent meaningless chatter whipping up an artificial mystical view of wisdom hidden in nonsense (Tim). I am certain that qualified as a Dennett paraphrase ’cause there’s no way in hell I would remember it word for word.
