When we pretend to accept the validity of atonement doctrine, because we think others genuinely believe it to be true, we participate in ‘pluralistic ignorance.’

When “technologies of connectivity” are used to promote genuine literacy, and ‘justice for all’ replaces Adam and Eve with Wallace and Darwin, repressive regimes like Judaism 2.0 the Holy See are no longer able to corrupt ‘faith’ with the fear of God.

Imagine Jesus as the original author of the statements “Perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment” and “He that feareth is not made perfect in love” because “There is no fear in love.” Where does the imagery of eternal damnation and purgatory come from? The short answer is mission creep from the keepers of atonement doctrine (Judaism 1.0). Clubbing people with the fear of God keeps flocks some nations “scared and compliant.”
